When you mess up or wander away from God, you might feel like that’s it. You might think, “The things I’ve done are too much. God couldn’t forgive me.” But that is not true. The amazing thing about God’s grace is that it’s not too late for you. There is still hope for you even after you mess up. God knows none of us is perfect. Ever since the first humans went their own way against God, we all sin and do wrong. But God didn’t give up on us. Though we all rejected Him, He still loves us. That’s why He sent His Son, Jesus, to this world, to live and die and rise again for us. Jesus died on the cross to take away our sins. All of us have sinned. All of us. We have all fallen short of deserving anything from Godbut He gives incredible grace to us anyway. Ephesians 2:4-5 says, God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) When you have messed up, even in a big way, it’s not too late. You can repent by turning away from sin and coming to God. You can ask for His forgiveness, and He will give you new life. God can make all things new. He can help you leave the past behind. God’s grace truly is beautiful and amazing. Because of what Jesus has done for us, we can live without shame from the past (Psalm 34:5; Romans 8:1). We can live freely, knowing that God is with us, and we can look forward to eternal life with Jesus when He returns. Thank you, God, for your grace. Bethany Acker Have you ever felt like what you’ve done is unforgivable, like there’s no going back? Take heart.
