Sometimes,
It feels like I’m swimming
In a river
Of my own thoughts.
.
Sometimes,
It seems like
I’m overwhelmed
In a sea
That crushes me.
.
Sometimes,
It feels like
I’m not swimming
I’m sinking
To the bottom.
.
Sometimes,
I remember
That I have hope
That saves;
Hope in Jesus.
.
And every time,
Hope dives
Into the ocean
And draws me
Out of my distress. Rereloluwa Bajomo

Read Psalm 116:1-7. How does God respond to our distress?
.
Jesus not only saves us from sin and death, He is also near to us
whenever we are in trouble or afraid. Even when we feel overwhelmed, we can
rest in the sure hope that He loves us and will never leave us. How could
these truths comfort us when we feel distressed?
.
I was overcome by distress and sorrow . when I was brought low, he saved
me. Psalm 116:3,6 (NIV)
