Show Notes

It’s okay to not know what is to come. It’s alright to go into a new year or phase of life without plans or expectations. My expectations don’t always happen anyway. My plans aren’t always for the bEsther But when I look to Jesus, when I ask Him to guide my life, everything will turn out alright. It’s scary to not know what to expect in this life. It’s hard to just move forward without knowing what waits on the other side. It’s overwhelming to think about all that could happen, all that we need to do, or all that could go wrong. But no matter what happens, I know that Jesus will be with me. That is the greatest comfort in my life. Did Peter know he would be imprisoned and even killed for his faith in Jesus? No, but God was with him through it all. Did Esther know she would be taken into the king’s harem and made queen, or that God would call her to risk her life to save her people? No, but she was able to have courage with God’s help. Our lives might not always be easy, and the future might not always be clear, but when we have faith in Jesus and trust Him, we can make it through anything that is to come. Bethany Acker What are some of your plans, expectations, or fears for the future? When we think about all the unknowns of what is to come, it’s not as frightening when we remember that God will still be with us when we get there. Consider taking a moment to imagine God’s presence with you and how He might help you, even if the thing you dread most were to happen. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrownot even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth belowindeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39 (NLT)
